As we add more wind and solar, we also need to be able to shift that energy to periods when the sun isn’t shining or the wind isn’t blowing. These battery facilities are among the largest grid-scale battery installations in Atlantic Canada, enabling us to store energy and deliver it when customers need it most.
Three grid-scale battery sites—located in Bridgewater, Waverley and White Rock—are now operational, marking a major achievement in our clean energy transition.
These facilities are a three-site installation totaling 150 MW / 4-hour duration, supported through partnerships with the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) and the Wskijnu’k Mtmo’taqnuow Agency Ltd. (WMA), along with federal support through Natural Resources Canada.
